Why are you excited to be a part of Budapest Showcase Hub?
I love Budapest as a city, after visiting for the first time in January 2016. More than that, I’m excited to discover more of the bands who are making a mark outside of the UK – there’s so much talent I’ve missed out on, and I can’t wait to catch up.
What can people expect from appearance?
Working on behalf of Clash magazine, I’ve already been lucky enough to have met some of the artists and PR teams involved in Budapest Showcase Hub. I love writing about new music, and I hope I can grab some time with any artists looking for exposure in the UK. I also write for Drowned in Sound and the Quietus, as well as my work as Deputy Editor for DrunkenWerewolf, so I’m always looking for opportunities to showcase new acts.
For BUSH-goers not familiar with you yet, what should they know about you?
I love literature, palinka, making cocktails (I spent several years as a cocktail bar manager), and Manchester United. Feel free to tap me up on any of these subjects!
Aside from your presenting your company, what else would you like to do during Budapest Showcase Hub 2017?
I’ll definitely be returning to the thermal baths, for sure. But I also want to meet local independent artists and organisers, and forge links with people who are connected to great music in Budapest.
Which bands will you surely catch during the festival?
I’m ridiculously excited to see Helen, Kamp!, and Lazer Viking live. Egészségére!
